Ica has a home!

Well this is my farewell note to my public. I have found a home! My new peeps came to get me today and guess what? They have a greayhoud too so I may not have to train them quite so much. She's 11 1/2 years old! Can you imagine? Anyway, these people have two kids, one girl and one boy and a big truck that they took me home in. I love car rides so this should be fun. Anyway, wish me luck!

I'm getting a complex

Ok so even Ocean Breeze (Quatro) got adopted. So what does that say about me? Well I have a lot to say and alot to be proud of. Last night I had to go pee, so you know what I did? I woke my foster mom up by whining. She told me I was a good boy and to add to that I was dry in my crate ALL DAY that means 8 hours for the second day in a row. I got a snack for that accomplishment! So you see I am proving my foster mom wrong.

Ok so I also like the high school. I went there last night in the car. The car is SOO cool. I like to sit with my face right next to the driver if possible. I guess truth be told I'd probably climb in the driver's lap if I could. Mom pushes me back. But I LOVE THE CAR (once someone gets me in!!). Pssst...I also have a secret. ... I love to throw stuffies and tennis balls in the air all alone. Once my peeps see me I stop. It's so embarrassing!

So here are my goals:
#1 - I will strive to walk better on a leash
#2 - I will strive to not madly chase after any small animal such as rabbits, squirrels, etc.
#3 - I will strive to not act like a nut and try to eat the cat - I know he's in the house but I can't get to him
#4 - I will strive to learn to wag my tail instead of just stalking people

Ok so enough for now. Gotta go lay in the sun.....yards are great!

So if you would like an interview with me please call Denise Davis at Greyhound Rescue Inc.

Newsflash - I wagged my tail!!!

Ok so today for the first time I wagged my tail at my foster sister. Ok she's a cute little girl and not a cute little dog, but I wagged it anyway! So here are some updates on my 'profile' ( I feel like I'm on Facebook!):

  • I do stairs like a champ! up and down

  • I am learning to walk well on a leash

  • I sleep on my foster mom's bedroom floor on a bed- all through the night with no accidents!

  • I stay in a crate during the day and for the first time today I didn't pee in it!!!

  • I have NEVER pooped in the house!

  • I am undergoing therapy for my cat issues

So it's quite an impressive list huh? I should also tell you that I've been called a stalker. I follow my peeps around. They pet me and kiss me. Maybe I'll wag my tail tomorrow too! Give them a real treat! As for the cat therapy, I don't know that I'll ever truly be safe around cats but my foster mom took me to the stable (boy those are BIG dogs!) and I saw two cats. I really wanted to eat them but I was on a leash! Oh well, as for the cat in my foster home, he lives in the basement. Probably good for him. I might not be able to contain myself and I might take a bite!!!!

Ok TTFN...I'll keep you up to date on the wagging!

See my charm is already working!

Ok so I told you so!!! My charm is already working. I slept in my foster mother's room last night on the floor without an issue. I even think this petting and hugging thing are ok too. In fact right now as my foster mother types my dictation, I am standing behind her hoping that she'll pet me. I'm reserving the tail wagging until later in the week. That is unless you come and visit me and take me to my real home!!!

PS- I'll pose for more pictures later. I'm just too busy for the public pictures now!

Ica is here!

Ok so I'm here and I came in with a bang! My name is Ica and I am a beautiful black hound. I am so handsome but am I a handful!!! My foster mom said I have been the worst she's had so far! Well I'm out to prove her wrong.

Ok let me tell you how I came into the house. First of all I came to my foster home with my brother Willie. His foster mom came and picked him up. Then I promptly entered the house and jumped up and attacked the birdcage. Boy did I get into trouble. Since then I've left the birds alone. In fact when I pass the cage, I bow my head in shame. How's that for remorse?! Ok so I can go up the steps like lightning, going down...not so much. They are really scarey when they go down! I am a really shy boy and am trying to get used to the rules and the hugs and kisses. I like my foster mom and when I get the chance, I follow her. That's cause she feeds me! So another thing I'm working on is housebreaking...why anyone would want to break a hosue, I don't know. but i think it has to do with the big yellow puddle I left in the kitchen on the floor. And yes I got into trouble for that too. Did I mention the chicken on the counter?! Ok that's for another time. For now as you see I have worn myself out and need some sleep. TTFN.

A little quiet here

Well I have to tell you, public...it was quiet around here. Dillon left on Sunday...the Easter bunny brought him a nice couple and they took him home! Wow I don't know how the Easter bunny fit those people in the basket but he's a pretty tricky rabbit anyway.

As for me, I have been hogging all the attention the last couple of days. Wow it's been great. Anyway, tonight I went with my friend that came to visit me before I was adopted last time. I was so happy to see him. I figured he'd come back for me. We were meant to be a great team. He's great. I wagged my tail and greeted him. Then he took out the leash. Someone trained him well. I thought he'd forgotten about me. Guess what? I'm going to live at the State Capital....ok well not at the actual building but in Annapolis. I'll keep you posted on the politics I try to rearrange!!! Who needs Democrats and Republicans? Vote for Greyhounds!!!

Ok Guess what happened? Hooper's Back and Dillon's gone!

(I think mom has had enough....kids, dogs! What next?!)

No one would ever believe this, but we greyhounds really ganged up on our foster mom. Let me explain...

Ok so Hooper's family didn't work out so Hooper is back with us now. He got here yesterday. I am quite happy and believe it or not....no longer need my magic carpet. In fact I came right up the steps and walked down the hardwood floor with the open stair railing (wow was that scarey!!!! I am SOO brave) to my foster mom's bed and you see what happened! Poor mom....she had to find another place to sleep. She knows who's the boss.

So now that you know my accomplishments I have to tell you some things....I ate a stick of butter off of the counter...wow was that good....wow did that give me gas...and wow did I get into trouble. Ok so that was yesterday...the day before, I finished off my human foster brother's chocolate chip cookie bar birthday cake. Oh come on...I left him a tiny square with a a little slobber to boot! I'm not that selfish. Buuuuuttt....the good thing is that I am housebroken or at least I haven't had an accident. I just need a muzzle to help me to control my counter surfing.

Ok enough bragging. A nice man came to visit me last week and decided to adopt me but he really wanted Hooper (he had seen Hooper first)....so....guess what ??! Hooper has ANOTHER HOME now! Never fear...this nice couple came today and swept me off my feet and took me away to a great home. By the way, they have a really cool SUV! I will definitely put my head on their shoulder as they drive. I like to be with people and these people are just perfect. I just hope they have lots of kisses for me (and a nice sofa and a nice bed). They've been trained by greyhounds so I think they know what they're doing. TTYL -that's teenager for talk to you later!

Hooper is supposed to go to his home this week.

Good Luck Hooper - fun to play with you!
