I'm not what my name implies! I promise

Well I'm here and no I am not a weazel, but my name is Rocken Weazel.  I know.  How embarrassing! Anyway, the only thing I'll do is weazel into your heart because I am a love bug.  So let me explain.  I got here yesterday and this is really the first time I've experiences a house.  That is why in my picture here I'm looking a little insecure!

I have some endearing qualities such as - looking into the reflection on the oven with curiosity....why would another dog be in the oven?! and I can put my paws up on your shoulders to look at your face if you talk silly to me.  I like to hang around my people that's for sure.

I like the other dogs here too.  I even like the cat and although I'm curious about the birds, I've left them alone.   I am a real curious guy.  I sniff everything and sometimes I knock them over.  Sorry! I think sometimes about counter cruising, but they holler "No!" at me when I've thought too much about it.  I'm still working on a couple of things.  I peed in the house one time.  I tried on another occasion, but again the "No!" was heard.  The time I did pee, it was right next to the back door where we all go out.  So I think that's the idea.  They never holler at me when I pee outside.  I'm also working on the steps.  Wow! They're really scary.  The other dogs are really brave and go right up and down.  I'll keep going on it.  Hopefully I'll get it soon.  I'm also working on walking on a leash.  There is so much out there that I need to get to and QUICK but my foster mom says I have to be patient and just walk.  Sleeping through the night is the last thing I'm working on.  My foster mom said I kept her up all night by walking around her room. She said I'd probably sleep better tonight.  It doesn't matter to me!  I can sleep whenever I want to!!

Ok so I'll keep you posted. If you want to let me weazel into your heart, call Denise and we can have a date!

Fergus is here!!

Hi, let me introduce myself.  My name is Fergus.  I am a sweet brindle boy- my foster mom said she'd get pictures later- who was returned because I was grouchy around people and smaller kids.  I just got here so my foster mom said she'd 'evaluate' me.  What in the heck is that supposed to mean?  Anyway, pictures and more updates later.  For now I'm gonna check out the yard.

I'm at home now....Skipp

Ok so my foster mom is a slacker.  I was actually adopted last week and I actually had to text her to remind her to update the blog... humans....I guess you gotta love 'em!

Anyway, two potential families visited me last weekend and the first family said they needed time to think.  The second visitor I told him he was mine right away. In fact I wanted to make sure he didn't get away so I crawled up into his lap. Ha!  I showed him, and now I have my forever home :)

Ok I am the champ!!

Ok so my training of these people continues.....I've actually accomplished my training...they love me! My foster mom calls me a pest though.  What's that supposed to mean?  I mean, seriously....I don't counter-cruise (that is unless you're doing something up there and then I try to help), I've had no accidents in the house, I don't even need a crate!  I even walk pretty nicely on a leash. Good Grief Mom...give me a break!

Anyway, I have to also share a success with you.  Yes I've done it, all on my own...I CLIMBED THE STAIRS!! So my foster brother, who happens to be human, was sitting at his desk on his computer. Jack, the daffy resident dog who lives here was laying on the boy's bed, and I walked up the steps and into his room.  Boy was he shocked!!!  So anyway I feel a little silly because from downstairs, I figured all the people just disappeared into the upstairs at night and I just went to bed downstairs.  Now I can actually go visit upstairs!  Life is good!!

So did you know they have birds here? wow! I look at them sometimes, but they're boring.  Peanut butter, dog treats, and hugs and kisses are much better than birds!

Ok gotta go.  A rawhide is calling my name...if you're interested in having me as your owner, please call Denise and we can arrange a visit and I can check you out to see if you're an acceptable match.

I'm Here at Last

Thank goodness I'm here at last.  Let me introduce myself, my name is Skipp.  Yes that's with two Ps. Don't ask me why, it's just because I'm special and let me tell you why.....
Well I arrived at my foster home yesterday.  I came from Florida which is a crazy long drive, but I don't mind drives in the car.  In fact I just plopped myself down and relaxed.

My foster mom says that I'm pathetic. My foster (kid) sisters told me to use dictionary.com to look the word up.  It must be something nice, 'cause she's so nice to me :)

Anyway, I'm quite a character in appearance.  I have lots of marks on my body telling the tales of my four year old life.  Many will heal as my coat gets nicer.  My nose has marks on it from my muzzle and I've worn my teeth - including my canines down somehow at the track, but let me tell you I can eat just fine!!! AND I love bisquets and peanut butter.  Yum!!! I love to be around you too. But I was ok in the crate in the house yesterday for a couple of hours while the people were out (Shhhh I had the snack with the peanut butter...don't tell the other dogs, they don't know).  In fact I slept out of the crate with the run of the house last night and didn't bother a thing...no accidents either!

Ok some more interesting things...my tail...it's short and I don't recall being born with a shorter tail.  But just like my short teeth, the tail works just fine.  It just wags a little different but it wags A LOT!!  I have taken all the stuffies out of the container and spread them all over the floor.  I tried to blame it on the others, but I think my mom knows differently.Last but not least, I haven't quite figured out the steps going upstairs to the second floor.  I'm fine with the four going out to the back yard, but teh 12 going up!  Yikes!

Ok getting writers cramp in my paws so enough for now.  If you want to visit me please contact Denise and fill out an application so that I can adopt you.

I have adopted my forever dad!!

So it happened today.  I saw him from across a crowded PetSmart. There he was and I knew he was mine.  I was at the Meet and Greet in Westminster today and I've adopted my owner!!  He really didn't have much choice. It was all up to me and I chose him!  I even filled out the contract (and some people say dogs can't write....ha!) He is GREAT!  Such a wonderful guy.  I leaned on him (as only a good greyhound will do) and although I was a curtious host to all the other people who were curious about our group, I always went back to my new owner.  He is a great petter.  I miss him already since he has to get my house ready for me he can't take me right away.  So I have to put up with these foster people for a little while longer.  But it was greyt telling you my story.  You'll probably see me somewhere in the papers.  I think my new forever owner has grand plans for me :)

A chair with a view

So I may not want to leave this place after all.  Look at me!  I can sit in a leather chair right in front of the window!  Who can beat that?!  I will say though that my foster mom had a sleepless night my first night.  She called me a whiner.  Hey I was scared. I gave her a couple of hours of sleep, didn't I?  Anyway, since that night I've been fine.  She let me have the run of the house.  So last night, you know where I slept? right next to her in bed!!! Ha what a sneak.  She was so warm and snuggly.

So here are a list of my charming qualities: I handle steps like a champ, I LOVE to play with stuffies -especially without an audience...I get embarrassed easily.  I can sing/howl if you get me started, I haven't counter cruised when no one is home (at least that they've noticed!) and I love to play with the kitten here.  She loves me and rubs her body up against my nose.  I also have not tried to eat the birds yet.  I wonder what cockatiels taste like?  Anyway, they're fun to look at and sometimes I whine at them. But I've been good.  I also eat like a gentleman, love hugs and kisses, go to the bathroom outside, love hugs and kisses, and am learning to walk on my leash.  Did I mention that I love hugs and kisses?  Oh and by the way, you can just call me a pillow.  I love to lay down with my people and be used as a pillow.

Ok fans, enough for now.  I need my beauty sleep.  Maybe someone will come and visit me soon.

I RECKON I'm back!

Hi my name is Reckon So and I reckon I am back and looking for my forever home. I was in a home for the last 5 weeks but my dad got a new job and I couldn't wait so long to see him again. So I'm back with a foster family and getting acclimated. I love people and you know what? They have a kitten here and she loves to play with me. My foster mom hollered at us though because we were running through the living room playing. I guess she was afraid of something she called a tornado. Don't know what that is 'cause I'm a greyhound and Chloe is a cat. (I think my foster mom isn't the brightest bulb in the pack!). So I'm busy getting adjusted. I just turned three on Valentine's Day, but that's ok because if you adopt me in time, we can celebrate St. Patrick's Day together- Right? I think green kibble would be good. Anyway, contact Denise if you're interested in my beautiful self :) PS don't mistake me for the big black and white guy...he's an old fart - my foster brother. <
