Jack- foster brother

Jack- foster brother

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

Hi I'm Bert (and no Ernie isn't here!)

Let me tell you a little about me, beside my formal tuxedo attire. I am quite a well-adjusted young man. I am polite, sleep through the night (slept in my foster mom’s room), can handle the steps, and have been fine with the little kitten and the birds. Mind you I did take off after the kitten this morning when Chloe, said kitten, ran through the house. I got a smack for that. Anyway, I was just trying to get her back for last night. You know what she did? She bit my toes while I was trying to sleep! How rude!!!
So I’ve had no accidents and really like my foster brothers here. One is an older guy but my brother…wow do we like to play! I have a big stuffed bunny that we toss in the living room. I also stay in the house without any restrictions during the day while my mom is at work and the kids take off in this big yellow thing. I am I have to say, a perfect dog. I love kisses and my foster mom uses this really goofy voice with me. Again, I think she’s nuts, but the kisses and hugs are GREAT. Anyway, if you can talk crazy to me and give me kisses and a forever home, please call Denise and we can live, Happily Ever After!

Ha! I've lost my collar! Do I care? NOT!

Ok so last night I slept in my foster sister's room. She was not happy about that, but I was a good boy. I slept on a bed on the floor and didn't make a peep until my foster brother (big 16 year old guy) got up for work around 6. Mom says I had my collar, but 'blip' now it's gone. So I'm wearing a temporary one while all the humans in the house go nuts looking for my flashy flame one. Frankly, I think it's sorta funny :)

So as you see I've gotten quite comfortable. My other foster sister picks on me and the way I hold my ears sometimes. Truthfully she plays with my ears a lot and I really like it! So anyway, if you're interested in coming to visit, please call Denise or visit http://www.greyrescue.com/ and come sweep me off my feet...oh that's right, I'm already off my feet! Tee hee!

I'm back and my name is Dino now!

Hi you might remember me. I used to be named Damron but now my name is Dino. Yup just like the dinosaur pet on the Flintstones. A little embarrassing and not so manly, but I'm wonderful anyway. you know what I can do? I can do steps and I'm cat safe. And I love hugs and kisses! I'm not sure what I'll be doing for my sleeping arrangements tonight. My other family told my foster mom that I liked my crate. So we'll see. I'll let you know tomorrow.
Ok gotta go. It's been a tiring day.

We're Playing Bingo in Baltimore now Hon!

Well my forever Dad camoe and picked me up last night. Good thing too since I had become a thief here. I had developed a glove and shoe obsession and relcated them on a regular basis! It was fun but now I'm on to bigger and better things. I'm going to be so happy at my new home! Hopefully they stocked up on work gloves and shoes!

Get your trolls and good luck charms ready....

It's time to play BINGO!!!
Hi that's me. Ok my real name is "Go Get Waxed"!! What were they thinking? Bingo fits me better because I am the winning hound. I just arrived yesterday and in a flurry of activity. These people are nuts. They plopped me in a crate and then another group of people came in and let me out and fed me. It's all good now though. I am such a champ...take a look at what I can do:
I can do the steps up and down. Usually I go one way and need help going the other. I guess I've been a little curious so that leads me in a direction. Then I realize where I am!
I slept all night in my foster sister's room and didn't say a peep (or a bark for that matter) No accidents in the house so far either.
They also have these birds. They make noise, but I leave them alone.
Last but not least I like to toss chippies---the rawhide kind. It's a private thing so I do that until someone draws attention to me. Then it's all serious business.

Ok so if you'd like to come see me, and I know you want to cause you're a winner too, call Denise and apply to WIN!!!

They promised to give me kisses, walks, and good kibble every day. Been nice knowing you and good luck to all the other dogs out there.

Comfy Cozy....At least to me

Ok so my foster mom and sisters didn't think I was comfortable so they took a picture of me. Don't you think it looks cozy?!
Ok so on to bigger and better things...like me!!! So anyway I have a secret to tell you. Ssshhhh don't tell anyone. I'm a thief. Ok true confessions. I took two cloth grocery bags, a box of gallon ziplocs, and an empty Pepsi bottle. Unfortunately I got caught! But I still get hugs and kisses. Hmm....wonder what I can take next. By the way, mom keeps throwing these rawhide pieces at me. If anyone knows what I'm supposed to do with them, please text me. If you want me to steal. I mean if you want me to be your forever dog and give me a forever home, please call Denise or email her ASAP.

Progress my dear

Well I've been here since Saturday and I have really trained these people well. Actually mom was home today- she was sick, but I told her to go to the doctor and she did and guess what? She left me out of the crate and I was sooo good. I didn't get into anything. Before she left though, I did try a library book. Why do people read them? They taste better.
So next to the wonderful picture of me is one of my weaknesses. It's a bag of clothespins. Yes, I love them. I take them often and then the other day I gave them to my foster sister. I was so kind, she was in bed and I just laid them on the bed next to her. She was soo happy. Or at least I think that was the reaction. She was laughing at least!
Ok more updates later. If you want the perfect dog, please contact Denise and tell her you're in love!

NEWSFLASH- Stink Bugs don't taste good!

Take that from me. I am an expert now. This morning my foster mom thought that I had stuffy guts stuck in my teeth so she checked my mouth as I flung my head around. That was when I opened my mouth and out it came, still wiggling! boy did my mouth stink. I shook my head and it still stunk. Wow what an escapade. So like I said, take my advice and DON'T EAT STINKBUGS!

So I know you're dying to hear about me some more. Ok well I made it through the second night in my foster sister's room without any problems. Then I stayed in the crate all day-alone for 7 hours since a big yellow thing pulled up to the house and ate the girls up and drove away this morning. I would have been scared! When they came home I just stood and wagged my tail as my foster sisters came in the door and let me out of my crate.

Mom and my foster sisters have been leash training me and I'm making progress. I still cross in front of my people (I honestly don't see why this is an issue- they don't like me sniffing their butts either! Go figure!). My foster mom also says she's not going to try the steps right away. I'm such a good boy steps don't matter and besides, I can do the 4 up to the back porch so what's the big deal?

More about Dexter

Since I am so cute (getting egotistical aren't I?!) I thought I'd add some more pictures of me. So here they are. With these pictures you're bound to contact Denise and say I'm yours....

WANTED: Home with Stuffies

Well here I am, Dexter. My foster mom is so mean to me and calls me Poindexter and says I should have hornrimmed glasses and a pocket protector and wear a bow tie! So anyway, I am in search of a home. This home has to have stuffies like the moose I am carrying. Let me explain. Within 30 minutes of settling in at my foster home I had taken out each and every stuffy and paraded through the house! Wow I made a mess!

On to more serious business. I was such a good boy last night I slept in my foster sister's room on a big blanket on the floor and didn't make a peep! I got up, ate breakfast with my foster brothers and went outside. As for the sore on my nose, it's from my muzzle in the car on the way to Denise's house. It's healing nicely and doesn't seem to bother me at all. My foster mother put some ointment on it.

So a little more about me. I haven't tried the steps yet, I love stuffies, am leaving the birds and the cage alone, and the cat hasn't shown his face since I've been here so I'll let you know about that when it happens. Besides the stuffies, I LOVE people. You know what they do? They pet me and kiss me and hug me. Wow, life is grand!

So that's the start with me. I'm getting typers cramp (no one told me that this job required typing skills. Thought I was just a foster dog).

I'm gone but while I was waiting....

I'm already gone to my new home but I thought I'd share with you what this crazy foster family did to me while I was waiting for my new mom. Isn't it awful?

Well I've sent updates to my foster mom from my new home. These people are great. They play with me and they got me nice warm beds. I get kisses and hugs too! Well good luck to all those other fosters out there.

Guess What? I have a family!!!! Yippeee!!

Well I may not look like it from the picture on here but am I excited!!! My forever family is coming to get me next week. I can't wait!! If you recall, this was the family who had the little girl who knows how to make dog biscuits. I hope she makes them a lot - that way I won't think my name is 'hoagie rolls' or finish off the blueberry bagels anymore.

So my foster mom says that this family is the right place for me so I have to be a good boy. I'm gonna make sure I give them lots of kisses and in the meantime I'm gonna hang out here. but don't worry, I'll drop a note by here before I leave.

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Wow I had a visit today!

So this really cool family came to visit me today and you know what they brought with them? Their daughter plus some rawhide chips. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! In fact when they left I just stood by the door and waited for them to come back in. Mom says they are thinking about it. Well that's good 'cause I will definitely be thinking about them...especially the little girl because you know what? She knows how to make homemade dog biscuits so I'm definitely hanging out with her if I can. In the meantime I'm gonna hold this couch down and make sure the blanket doesn't get away!

my new name is hoagie roll

So as you see this torn up bag says "hoagie rolls". They were for me right? I don't remember it but they must have changed my name to hoagie roll 'cause I just know it was for me! Dont you agree?

Friday, January 28, 2011

ok so all we do is sleep...is that so bad?

Ha! My foster mom thinks that this is her bed!!! Wow do we have news for her! So this is how she found us the other day. You will see that my foster brothers Jack and Mustang are here on the bed with me. Jack is just a little bit loose for my taste with his legs up in the air and all. Does he have no shame?!!
Anyway, I am quite settled in here, but between the hugs, kisses, and the screams to "Shove over!!!" my foster mom still tells me we're still looking for a forever home for me.
Oh, and before I sign off (I have another bed to hold down) I wanted to tell you that this snow we've had you know? Well it is no big deal for me. I jump through it like a jack rabbit. In fact Jack and I were chasing each other in it the other day.
So if you want to meet me, you can either contact Denise, or email my foster mom at kidproof@qis.net and she'll be glad to tell you all about me and how wonderful I am!

Couch Anyone?

Well I'm still here, but that's not so bad I'm thinking! I'm still waiting for the right couch, the right kisses, and some kids to sweep me off my feet! I'm not sure how many times I can review my wonderful attributes but I'll list them here for some of you newcomers:
  • I am housebroken
  • I can do steps like a champ
  • I like to play
  • I am 2 1/2 years old
  • I'm cat and small animal safe
  • I LOVE kids and my foster mom things I need to have them around
  • I love kisses, walks, and to hang out with you on the couch
  • I WOULD recommend that I sleep with you in your bed. My foster mom says, NOoooooooo! don't let him do it...he's a pig and will hog the bed (don't listen to her, she doesn't know anything!)

So that's it for me. I'm waiting for your call. I know you're not just reading this blog for the heck of it...I know you want me...don't ya?!

Lovin Life

Hi everyone,

I went on a visit with a 'maybe forever' family this weekend. It was great. It was a trial run and I think I passed, but I'm not sure if it's gonna work or not. The family has kids!! And boy do I need kids. They are great! They lay on me and hug me. So I hope the family calls me back, because my bags are packed.

In the meantime, as you see I'm helping my foster mom take a nap. She said she needed help holding her leg down. ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............

Well I'm still here!

I haven't written in a while since I was vacationing at a home for the Christmas holiday. Unfortunately it didn't work out. Not sure why. I am such a great guy. My foster mom thinks I might need to have some kids around and a BUSY household. Here at my foster home we have birds, a cat, and three teenagers who are constantly harrassing me. Can I file a complaint with the Greyhound Rescue do you think? Harrassment such as flopping my ears up and down all the while making fun of how small they are in comparison to my big manly body? Or how about my smile that they tease me about? Maybe the fact that when I get really excited my teeth chatter? Ok, well the worst was making me lay down like a camel. The things they do to me! Oh well. Mom thinks I like it. Ok secretly I do.

So when I'm not being harrassed, I can do the stairs like a champ, am housebroken for nights and about a 7 hour day, and don't counter cruise or get into things.....unless the neon sign says, "We were stupid and left this out...so get into it!" So if you have a busy house and time to make fun of me and tease me, please call Denise.
